Hi! I’m Marissa,

A cinephile, filmmaker, roller skater, & preservationist.

Born and raised in the sun kissed desert of Southern California, I was a mute kindergartener, certainly prompted my "contrarian" nature at a young age. Lived in a small town with a population of nearly 20,500 back in the 90s, which was only five miles from the Cabazon Dinosaurs. You know the ones who had a brief scene in PEE WEE'S BIG ADVENTURE?

In high school, I lettered in volleyball, while having dreams of becoming a journalist which changed into becoming a video editor which evolved into dreaming of being the first female director to win an academy award. Kathryn Bigelow beat me to the punch with THE HURT LOCKER in 2010. Oh well. Not all is lost.

I presently work on the outskirts of the film industry with a full time job in film preservation. I analyze, watch, critique, and learn from films while being a weekend independent filmmaker who makes short films when I have the time, money, inspiration, resources, and energy.

If you'd like to help or donate, please feel free to message me. Or if you're down to roller skate, please join! I'm active in a wonderful skate community, rolling our way through California.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to subscribe!

Cheers!
